Dr Jillian Kelly
Creator & Managing Director
Animal Health & Nutrition Consulting was founded by Dr Jillian Kelly in 2022.
Jillian has a strong background in veterinary science and livestock nutrition, with a veterinary degree with first class honours from the University of Sydney and is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Animal Nutrition (Ruminant).
This formal education is nicely paired with the practical experience gained from growing up at Coonamble and the last 20 years working alongside producers, elbows deep in livestock health and nutrition issues throughout western NSW and Queensland. She is passionate about proactive livestock production initiatives to offset disease issues before they occur, with a focus on drought planning, feeding and resilience.
Jillian sits on a number of boards and steering committees and is a mentor to young professionals within the agricultural industry and her community. She trades cattle, paints watercolours (@miss.vet) and enjoys spending time with her horses, dogs and family.

Isabelle Smith
Office Manager
Isabelle grew up on a cattle property at Willow Tree, NSW before moving to Coonamble in 2021 where her husband’s family runs a mixed farming business.
Issy has an Agribusiness degree from the University of New England which really ignited her passion for animal health, and the analysis of data to better interpret and understand our agricultural production systems. She has previously worked within the government sector as a Project Officer and Biosecurity Officer, and at a rural accountancy firm.
In the midst of raising her young family, Issy enjoys riding horses and getting amongst the local community.

Alix Johnston
Nutrition & Animal Production Consultant
Alix is an experienced agricultural extension specialist dedicated to helping producers achieve practical, on-farm production outcomes and sustainable business growth. Raised between Newcastle and her family’s cattle operation on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, her love of livestock and horses led her directly into hands-on industry experience across the dusty stock camps of Northern Australia.
She holds an Associate Degree in Farm Business Management from Marcus Oldham College and is currently completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with a focus on ruminant nutrition. Alix’s career spans from beef supply chain logistics to hands-on extension and project management roles within the Sustainable Agriculture team and the state-wide Drought Adoption team for the Department of Regional NSW. Grounded in practical, hands-on experience and backed by technical knowledge, Alix is passionate about delivering practical nutrition and production solutions to farm businesses.
While raising her daughter, Alix’s favourite past time is in the saddle, mustering cattle. She also enjoys playing sport, creative writing and being part of a close-knit community.

Kelsey Smith
Nutrition & Animal Production Consultant
(Southern/Central Queensland)
Kelsey has a Bachelor of Agriculture majoring in Animal Science from the University of Queensland.
She has a good understanding of northern production systems, having worked on stations and in contracting teams. Most recently she was the Animal Production Advisor for Nutrien across Northern Queensland. Kelsey is an experienced ruminant nutritionist working in feed mills in southern Queensland and helping producers make better decisions with their livestock feeding programs.

Jemma Luelf
Project Support
Jemma hails from a prime lamb and cropping property near Weethalle in NSW. She has experienced all facets of agriculture, having worked on a cattle station in the NT, a high-country fine wool merino stud in New Zealand and her family farm back home.
Jemma came to AHN in early 2023 in a full-time capacity and worked in the field alongside Jill as a technical assistant. She is a massive asset to the business as she is as handy in the yards as she is on a spreadsheet!
She is now enrolled in a Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management at Charles Sturt University in Wagga and works part time for us in all areas of project and client support.
Jemma loves spending time with her dogs, playing sport, as well as photography (@theyardup) and reckons the best thing about agriculture is watching things grow!
